Privacy Policy for Milestone
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Milestone is built to keep your information on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice, and names the only two companies that ever see anything, both of which are involved solely so you can pay for a challenge.
The short version
- Milestone has no account and no sign-up.
- The challenges you create, the rules you write, the days you check in, and any photos or notes you add are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- We do not run analytics, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- The only information that leaves your device is what Apple needs to process a purchase, and what our purchase provider needs to confirm that purchase. Neither is tied to your name or email by Milestone.
What we store on your device
When you use Milestone, the app saves the following locally, in a database and file storage that belong to the app on your phone:
- The challenges you design, including their names, durations, daily rules, and the consequence you chose for a missed day.
- Your daily check-ins and streak history.
- Any photos or notes you attach to a day.
- Your reminder preferences.
This information stays on your device. Uninstalling the app removes it. We cannot see it, recover it, or transfer it, because we never receive it.
Purchases
Milestone offers one-time purchases. Each challenge is bought on its own, and nothing renews. To make a purchase possible, two third parties are involved:
- Apple. Purchases are processed through the App Store. Apple handles your payment and receives the information required to complete it. Apple's use of that information is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
- RevenueCat, Inc. We use RevenueCat to validate and manage purchases. When you buy a challenge, RevenueCat receives purchase and receipt information associated with an anonymous identifier that the app generates. This identifier is not your name, email, or Apple ID, and Milestone does not link it to your identity. RevenueCat's handling of that information is governed by RevenueCat's privacy policy, available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
We do not receive your credit card number or payment details at any point.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, Milestone schedules them locally on your device. Reminder content is generated on the phone. We do not send push notifications from a server and we do not use a notification service that would receive your reminder content.
Photos
If you attach a photo to a day, the app reads the image you pick and stores a copy in the app's own storage on your device. Photos are not uploaded. If you choose to share a recap or progress image, that happens only when you tap share and use the standard iOS share sheet, and only with the destination you pick.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising software.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell data. We could not, because we do not have it.
Children
Milestone is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and post the new version at the same address. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
